Learning Objective:

This chapter will examine the mechanic’s repair orders and how they apply to you while documenting customer complaints. The three C’s of service invoices, starting with the customer “Complaint” and how technicians complete the two other C’s: “Cause” and “Correction” to complete the repair loop.

You’ll learn about the three types of repair orders (customer pay, warranty, and internal) Plus, review fleet maintenance companies, goodwill, and inter-department repairs.

The service shop consists of varying skill level technicians, and it can be intimidating to employees new to the automotive industry. This section explains each technician’s skill level and the type of repairs they can perform.
